ABOUT US

We want to welcome you to St Johns Church Warley.

Here you can find out all about the different groups that are available to you here at Warley. Please feel free to contact us to find out more about what we offer.

PARISH OF WARLEY

The Parish of St John the Evangelist has some of the finest views in the country over the Pennine villages of Calderdale.

The Parish covers Cote Hill, Warley Wood, Trimmingham, Willowfield, Norton Tower, Warley Town and Highroad Well.

SONG GROUP

St John's does not have a Choir, but a lively group of people who enjoy singing together.  They practise every week and lead the singing at the 11.00am services.  The group also give concerts at various venues other than St John's.

COFFEE CLUB

A well-attended and successful Coffee Club is held monthly for over 60’s.  The club meets in the church building, enjoying a wide variety of speakers and two or three visits per year.

Central to this vision is Sunday Worship and our mid-week Home Groups where the teaching of the Bible is taken seriously and carefully applied to our lives today. All this influences what we do, from our work with younger children, to our evangelism and outreach, and to the way we try to care for our community.

St. John's are in joint Benefice with the Church of St. Hilda

We hope this Site will serve as an introduction to St. John’s and help you to see where you might fit in.

If you are new to the Christian faith do consider joining one of our House Groups where you can meet people and discover more about God in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

OPEN THE BOOK

Open the Book is a project which offers primary school children an opportunity to hear the major stories of the Bible, from a team of Christians from local churches, who present the stories during assemblies/acts of Collective Worship. Each presentation takes around 10-15 minutes and can be incorporated into a wider school assembly, or can stand alone.

At St. John's we have a team who go into our local primary school to tell Bible stories and share the Good News.

WARLEY COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

The Church has strong links with Warley Village Community Association.  Members of our congregation are involved in the committee and the Church assists and supports many of its events.

UNIFORMED ORGANISATIONS

Uniformed Organisations consist of Explorer Scouts, Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows. They are a lively, thriving Group enjoying a wide variety of activities thanks to the dedication of their Leaders.
